Wally Gaida and his family have invited all of us in Troop 344 to attend his Eagle Court of Honor. We are also welcome to stay for dinner afterward, sponsored by Wally's family. Check your e-mail and RSVP for this milestone. Pay it forward, gang... remember that if you want people at YOUR Eagle, you need to support the guys who come before you.
The December day trip to ride the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad still has spots open. Check the e-mail from Mr. Farbacher for the full details, and come join in the American tradition of riding on a train. Did you know The 3:10 to Yuma was a song before it was a movie?
Big, capital letters so no one shows up on Tuesday night. Due to Tuesday's election day, our meeting has been moved to WEDNESDAY. This includes PLC at 6 and Troop Committee meeting at 7. We are installing cameras so we can laugh at those of you who show up Tuesday anyway. And remember to bug your parents to vote.
WEDNESDAY is the last night you can sign up for Feast. Be sure you do so, or you'll miss really good pie. And our new Troop toys, too. You don't want to hear about those after the fact. Who knows when we'll see them again?
September 28, 10:30 AM. Please refrain from talking, and if you are good, there is pie afterwards. See the email Aaron sent out for more details. And did I say that there will be PIES?
If you're not going to be at your OA Ordeal, and you're not going to be at Aaron's Bar Mitzvah, how about helping out at the Heartwalk? The Troop has been supporting this charity event for a bunch of years now, and the Heartwalk people have come to rely on us. Contact Mrs. Scanga if you can help.
October 4-6 is the Horseback riding campout. We leave at FOUR THIRTY PM, SO GET HERE HALF AN HOUR EARLY TO GIVE YOURSELF SOME TIME WITHOUT DOING A SPRINT TO PUT YOUR STUFF IN THE TRAILER! No one wants to be that guy who is 30 minutes late, driving by himself with a mad and lost mom, who would rather you have gotten there at least 15 minutes early.
Welcome back to another year of Scouting! We'll kick off the year with our annual picnic and Court of Honor. Picnic starts at 6 (set-up at 5:30. Help set up) with the Court of Honor to follow. Bring your family. Last names A-G, bring desserts to share. H-Z, bring side dishes. We'll provide the dogs, burgers, and drinks.
